Purtech offers a variety of 83/17 tungsten carbide coatings. Deposited utilizing Plasma or HVOF thermal spray technology, these coatings can provide excellent wear resistance and anti-galling characteristics for an array of industrial applications.
The 83/17 carbides coatings are tough due to the increased cobalt level. These carbide coatings provide a degree of resistance to thermal shock, and vibration making them well suited for applications such as fretting wear and particle erosion at temperatures below 1000F. Substrate temperatures should remain below 500F.
Various carbide particle sizes and processing techniques are employed that allow us to produce coatings tailored to each applications need.
Applied using Plasma Flame Spray technology, these carbide coatings provide protection from sliding wear, fretting and provide ant-galling characteristics. They are ideal for preventing shaft wear from lip seals and packing. Low substrate heating make these coatings ideal for thin substrates and the use of special ID equipment allows us to coat ID’s down to 4”.
When applied using HVOF technology, these carbide coatings are tough and forgiving on difficult part geometries. They provide excellent resistance to wear and particle erosion. Successful applications include boiler waterwall tubes, high pressure plungers, valve bores, capstans, and an endless variety of wearing parts in the mining, petrochemical, electrical utility and dry bulk material handling industries.
Finished coatings appear as a solid material and can be diamond ground to a 2 4 RMS or superfinished to less than 1 RMS.
The information provided is believed to be accurate, however actual coating properties may vary due to part geometry, preparation method, and other application and part constraints. No warrantee is expressed or implied.
