Purtech 80/20 nickel-chromium clad chromium carbide coating provides excellent resistance to particle erosion and high temperature corrosion. The metal cladding protects the chromium carbide crystals during application and prevents decaiturization. The resultant HVOF applied coating is the hardest chromium carbide coating we offer. The typical macro hardness is Rc 66. and the micro hardness is well above more traditional blended or sintered nfliais.
Coatings can be used in elevated temperatures to 1500 degrees F.
As in the case of all of our HVOF carbide coatings. the 80/20 nickel clad chromium carbide coating exhibits extremely high bond strengths and negligible porosity
Typical applications include power generation and aircraft turbines, high pressure valves and other parts under conditions of high wear coupled with high temperature or aqueous corrosion.
